Fantasia Barrino is a name that most television watchers know and have come to love over the last few years. After the fame that came from her winning of American Idol, there have been many stories about this young singer that have captivated her fans. From dating an Atlanta rapper (Young Dro) to her financial problems that almost resulted in a foreclosure on her home, there has been nothing that has gotten Fantasia’s fans more excited and elicited more publicity than when people thought she might be pregnant.

When Barrino was just sixteen she gave birth to her first child Zion. Not long after her daughter’s brith, Fantasia Barrino left the baby’s father because of continued verbal and physical abuse despite the new baby. After this and her fame with American Idol in early 2004 Fantasia moved on to a lucrative singing career and a new beau. However, everyone wanted answers in 2007 when rumors surfaced revolving around the couple and their expected baby.

The rumors started when Fantasia had to miss a few showings of the Broadway version of “The Color Purple” in order to nurse herself back to health. This led the internet masses to assume that she had to have something wrong with her and the number one answer to what that might have been was that she had gotten pregnant. On December 20th, however, these rumors were laid to rest when a representative of Barrino’s stated that all of the internet rumors about the pregnancy were nothing more than fiction. The representative also said that the reason why she had missed shows was simply that she was sick and there were eight shows a week.
