Most of her fans only know her as Fantasia however her loved ones including her parents and siblings know her as Fantasia Monique Barrino who is a modern day super hero when it comes to R&B soulful music and her great singing voice. Fantasia is also known for her Broadway performances including her several TV appearances as an actress. She is a very multi talented woman who does a great job at many things including her singing and acting. Fantasia was the third winner of the American Idol competition back in 2004 which was the biggest boost to becoming a star that you could ask for. Fantasia has been nominated for more than 8 Grammy Awards for her work which is enough of a compliment on its own.
In 2004 her first single called I Believe rocketed to the number one spot like many of the American Idol hit song do. It was not long after that with her contracted record producer that she was able to release her first album. Free Yourself was her first album which did just as well for her as her first hit song did selling more than a million copies in America alone. Her second self titled album Fantasia was also a big hit in America as well as other countries around the world where record sales and promotions where helping to boost her celebrity status. This album was certified as a Gold class album and received three nominations for a Grammy Award in 2008.
Her first TV appearance was of coarse in the American Idol series three where she won the show starting her climb up the fame and fortune ladder however the next year in 2005 she did not appear on TV as such in her next performance which was in the animated series the Simpson’s. In 2006 she plays a role in the movie Life is not a Fairy Tale which is a movie based on her own life experience and she plays the role of herself. In 2009 Fantasia played the role of awards quest in the Soul Train Awards ceremony where she sang a song and looked great in her outfit. Fantasia is a name that will continue to be around for several years as we find her celebrity status helping her to accomplish great things.
